The Tennessee Titans are preparing for their next preseason contest as they are set to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Many players are going to be asked to have a big game following what was a disappointing performance against the 49ers, despite picking up a victory.
One of those players is Carnell Tate, who unfortunately dealt the Titans a significant blow following what would be a big headline just days ago.
The Titans were dealt some bad news when it comes to their rookie wide receiver, as he was not able to practice on Wednesday, and it became noticeable that he wasn’t even there to stretch. The talented wide receiver was just at the last practice two days ago, but he was dealt an unfortunate blow in practice.
Tate would suffer a massive hit from expected starting safety Kevin Winston Jr., which would ultimately remove him from practice due to dizziness. This wasn’t a good sign, but it was noted that Robert Saleh addressed the media with his thoughts and how he didn’t believe that this injury would carry over or be any long-term issue. However, with Tate not being at practice, there are some concerns that the long-term factor may be in play.
This is the last thing the Titans need as the 2026 regular season is just a few weeks away and the second game of the preseason is on the horizon. The Titans need Carnell Tate at his best when it comes to this next preseason game, as he was visibly struggling to create separation during the first contest against the backups of the 49ers. This leaves plenty of room to improve and something to monitor moving forward, but the Titans will first have to get him back on the field following this apparent injury.
I am no doctor, but from the sound of how things happened and went down during the practice just two days ago, it seems that a likely diagnosis could be a concussion, which would keep the rookie wide receiver out of the contest come Sunday. He would also maybe miss the contest next week when the Titans play against the Chicago Bears inside Nissan Stadium for the last-ever preseason game in the stadium.
