Texans' firing of Amy Palcic angers NFL community

The Houston Texans fired vice president of communications Amy Palcic, telling her she no longer was a "cultural fit" within the organization, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Palcic joined the organization in 2013 and became the first and only woman to hold top public relations responsibilities for an NFL team. The staff she ran won the 2017 Rozelle Award for the NFL's best public relations staff as voted by the Pro Football Writers of America.

In 2019, the Texans brought Jack Easterby in to assess the culture of the organization. Since that point, general manager Brian Gaine and head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien have been fired. Easterby currently is in charge of football operations until the team hires a new general manager.

The news of Palcic's firing stunned the NFL community, with many calling out the Texans for firing one of the best public relations officials in the game.
