The Houston Texans made some changes to their coaching staff during the 2024 NFL Draft Combine.
While everyone was interviewing the draft prospects like Byron Murphy, who we have as a great fit for the Texans, some news dropped, and it appears the Texans are moving on from linebackers coach Chris Kiffin and hiring someone else.
The Texans have hired Billy Davis, who was the linebackers coach in Arizona under Matt Burke and was the defensive coordinator for the Eagles from 2012 to 2015 when DeMeco Ryans was a player there, as their new linebackers coach.

The Texans didn't really have an issue in their linebacker room last season. It was a position group that was about average. However, getting a good coach is very vital for that group.
The Texans have a young star in Christian Harris, who was good last year but has still not reached his potential. Davis is a great hire in that aspect.
