The Houston Texans are looking to find another way to improve after their second straight season with a playoff win.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud will be heading into his third season at the helm of Houston's offense, eyeing a better season than the sophomore slump he had in 2024.
After passing for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions in his rookie season, Stroud had to deal with injuries to his receiving core in his second season and finished with 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
Despite the Texans battling injuries all of last season, they were able to win their Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Chargers before being put out by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
As the NFL is in the middle of the offseason, teams across the league have started OTAs, but quarterback C.J. Stroud hasn't been throwing with the Houston Texans.
The Texans' quarterback has been dealing with shoulder soreness and was seen not throwing at OTAs on Tuesday morning.
"There's no concerns with C.J. [Stroud]. It's just general soreness. We're taking extra precaution with him, but he'll be good to go. No concerns on my end there," Ryans told the press on Tuesday morning.

DeMeco Ryans declines to answer if C.J. had any work on his shoulder in the offseason.

Stroud has been seen in uniform, but he wasn't taking throwing reps with the rest of the Texans' quarterbacks on Tuesday.
Although coach Ryans labeled his absence with "general soreness," there hasn't been any updates on if Stroud had any work done on the shoulder this offseason.
