The Giants are showing why the Lions should get their money back after last year's issues
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

Last year, the Detroit Lions traveled to New Jersey to have a couple of joint practices with the New York Giants. They were valuable practices that Lions head coach Dan Campbell said the Giants helped the Lions realize where they needed to be to win in 2025.

"I felt like the biggest adjustment for us was training camp out at New York, you know, that was the first real taste of, you know, kind of the perception. And, you know, I thought the Giants man, they practiced hard, they brought it, you know, it was a lot of energy, a lot of juice. And I thought that was good for us to get that, and it's like now, you know what it's going to be like all season, and we've handled it. I mean, we handle it well. We know we're going to get everybody's best shot."

Speaking of "best shot," both teams also fought each other for two days, and the league felt embarrassed by it and fined both teams $200 thousand each.

$200 thousand isn't a big deal. The Lions probably spend that weekly on Kind Bars in the locker room, but some recent development really makes it look like the Lions weren't the perpetrators because the Giants have been starting fights with each other all summer.

Not a great look for the Giants. Nobody is excusing anything, the Lions did, but I believe it was the great Lil Jon who once said, "Don't start no ish, won't be no ish." That was from the radio version.

The Lions aren't getting their money back, and they probably aren't going to ask for it either. It is what it is. The Lions fight at camp sometimes, too, but dang. We've never seen Aidan Hutchinson drag Dan Skipper around like that.
