The Houston Texans Have Made Four Different Trades

The Houston Texans have had a super busy offseason.

They've been active in the free-agent market but even more active on the trade market. They traded star tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders in a blockbuster move that netted them four picks.

They got a third and seventh-round pick in 2025 and a second and fourth-round pick in 2026. They continued to reshape their offensive line by trading guard Kenyon Green to the Philadelphia Eagles for defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Guard Ed Ingram was acquired by the Texans from the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Ingram will likely start right away for the Texans next season.

Wide receiver Christian Kirk was acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

They hope that these moves can help them go on a deeper playoff run in 2025. They got to the divisional round of the playoffs for a second straight year before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.

They've won two AFC South titles in the last two seasons and will try to go three-for-three in 2025. Kirk is another good receiving option for star quarterback C.J. Stroud. He should be a great fit in a receiving room that includes Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and John Metchie III.

Gardner-Johnson will start at safety right away for the Texans after helping the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX in February. He finished the season with 59 tackles, a forced fumble, six interceptions, and 12 passes defended.

The new league year just started on Wednesday, and considering how active the Texans have already been, logic would dictate that they'd make even more trades before the start of the 2025 season.
