The Steelers’ Keys To Victory In Week 10

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a big win against the Indianapolis Colts, making Week 10 an obvious letdown spot. They have to fly west to play Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. They never fare well out west, and the Chargers are a good team. Their offensive line is banged up, but they are still a great team. Unfortunately, they won’t get to see their old friend, Najee Harris. He is out for the season.

5. Keep Jalen Ramsey At Safety

The Steelers’ safety room was thin last week, forcing Jalen Ramsey to slide there. He looked great in the role that Minkah Fitzpatrick used to play in Pittsburgh. Ramsey neutralized Tyler Warren, holding him to five catches for 26 yards. The safety duo of Kyle Dugger and Ramsey worked well and should be together for the foreseeable future. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

4. Run The Ball Efficiently

Jaylen Warren is having a great season as the Steelers’ RB1. He scored two touchdowns against the Colts, but he had the least efficient day of his career. Warren ran the ball 16 times for 31 yards. Pittsburgh has to do a better job of establishing the run so Rodgers can get better looks downfield. The play-action game needs improvement. It feels like it ends in a sack every time.

3. Get D.K. Metcalf Back On Track

Pittsburgh fans are stupid sometimes. Some of them are already turning on D.K. Metcalf after his first bad game of the season. He dropped two passes and ended the game with six receiving yards. It wasn’t his best showing, but the Steelers need to get him going again in Week 10. Metcalf is on pace to eclipse 1,000 yards, and he has five touchdowns in eight games. He will be fine. Saying he isn’t worth the money over one game is foolish.

2. Pressure, Pressure, Pressure

Pittsburgh’s defensive plan in Week Nine involved less blitzing, but getting pressure will be key in Week 10. The Chargers’ offensive line is decimated right now. Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater are out for the year. It’s time for T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Nick Herbig to pin their ears back and get to Justin Herbert. He won’t take the Steelers lightly, as they banged him around in their meeting last season. It’s time to wreak havoc and create chaos.

1. Steelers Fans At Sofi Stadium

It’s well known that Steelers fans travel well. Los Angeles is one of their better away venues for fan turnout. Every time they play at Sofi Stadium, it’s full of twirling Terrible Towels. Pittsburgh fans need to show up and be loud. Turn this into a home game. Make Herbert go to a silent count in his own house. The fans need to do their part to help this team win.

End Of My Pittsburgh Steelers Rant

If the Steelers can get a win against the Chargers, they will have a full head of steam coming into their rematch against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. Tomlin and his soldiers have that game circled on their calendar. The Bengals gave them a whooping on Thursday Night Football a few weeks ago. It’s time to get it back, but they can’t overlook Los Angeles. It is a good football team that is dangerous in the AFC.
