The ultimate NFL All-International Team featuring players born outside the United States
Sam Navarro-Imagn Images

Football is more than ever an international sport these days. Obviously, no other country loves it more than the United States, but it's now frequent to see players from other nationalities playing in the NFL — sometimes, even without moving to America as young kids, really start their careers abroad.

That brought us the idea of building the All-International Team.

Here are our main rules:

1) Only players born outside of the US count (if a player has non-American citizenship but was born in the US, he is not eligible);

2) US territories don't count (if a player was born in the American Samoa, for example, he is not eligible);

3) Currently, there are no foreigners playing at quarterback in the NFL. So we had to add Nathan Rourke, who spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons over the last two years, but is now back in the CFL with the BC Lions.

Offense

  • QB Nathan Rourke, BC Lions, Canada
  • RB Gus Edwards, Los Angeles Chargers, Liberia
  • FB Jakob Johnson, New York Giants, Germany
  • WR John Metchie III, Houston Texans, Taiwan
  • WR Nelson Agholor, Baltimore Ravens, Nigeria
  • TE Theo Johnson, New York Giants, Canada
  • LT Jordan Mailata, Philadelphia Eagles, Australia
  • LG Matthew Bergeron, Atlanta Falcons, Canada
  • C Dieter Eiselen, free agent, South Africa
  • RG Sidy Sow, New England Patriots, Canada
  • RT Bernhard Raimann, Indianapolis Colts, Austria

Defense

  • DE Danielle Hunter, Houston Texans, Jamaica
  • DT David Onyemata, Atlanta Falcons, Nigeria
  • DT Javon Kinlaw, New York Jets, Trinidad and Tobago
  • DE George Karlaftis, Kansas City Chiefs, Greece
  • LB Junior Colson, Los Angeles Chargers, Haiti
  • LB Maema Njongmeta, Cincinnati Bengals, Cameroon
  • CB Benjamin St-Juste, Washington Commanders, Canada
  • CB Corey Ballentine, Green Bay Packers, Jamaica
  • NB Kader Kohou, Miami Dolphins, Ivory Coast
  • S Jevon Holland, Miami Dolphins, Canada
  • S Kyle Hamilton, Baltimore Ravens, Greece

Special teams

Overall analysis

On offense, quarterback is obviously the main issue. We were able to put together a strong tackle duo, but on the interior the offensive line isn't that good. We have speed at wide receiver and a powerful run game.

On defense, it's truly impressive how many good edge defenders and defensive linemen in general were available. Excellent players like Kwity Paye and Julian Okwara didn't make the team because of that. Cornerbacks were a huge problem and off-ball linebackers weren't easy to find, but we can alleviate some of those issues with an extremely talented safety duo.

On special teams, we have an elite punter and a solid kicker, even though Cairo Santos doesn't have the strongest leg in the world. It was harder to find a long snapper.
