Football is more than ever an international sport these days. Obviously, no other country loves it more than the United States, but it's now frequent to see players from other nationalities playing in the NFL — sometimes, even without moving to America as young kids, really start their careers abroad.
That brought us the idea of building the All-International Team.
1) Only players born outside of the US count (if a player has non-American citizenship but was born in the US, he is not eligible);
2) US territories don't count (if a player was born in the American Samoa, for example, he is not eligible);
3) Currently, there are no foreigners playing at quarterback in the NFL. So we had to add Nathan Rourke, who spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons over the last two years, but is now back in the CFL with the BC Lions.
On offense, quarterback is obviously the main issue. We were able to put together a strong tackle duo, but on the interior the offensive line isn't that good. We have speed at wide receiver and a powerful run game.
On defense, it's truly impressive how many good edge defenders and defensive linemen in general were available. Excellent players like Kwity Paye and Julian Okwara didn't make the team because of that. Cornerbacks were a huge problem and off-ball linebackers weren't easy to find, but we can alleviate some of those issues with an extremely talented safety duo.
On special teams, we have an elite punter and a solid kicker, even though Cairo Santos doesn't have the strongest leg in the world. It was harder to find a long snapper.
