With tons of cap space and a talented, young, and inexpensive quarterback is now the time for the Patriots to take a big swing?
New England is entering a new era under head coach Mike Vrabel who last coached with the Tennessee Titans and won three Super Bowls as a player with the Pats from 2001-2008.
And even though the Patriots are coming off a 4-13 season last year, No. 3 pick Drake Maye showed a lot of promise and had fans in Foxborough looking forward to the future.
With that said, New England's roster still doesn't have much star power on it outside of wide receiver Stefon Diggs and third-year corner Christian Gonzalez. But one NFL Network analyst believes that could change if the franchise decides to get ultra-aggressive in the coming weeks.
While expectations are fairly low in Mike Vrabel's first year as HC, the Patriots are definitely a team that could surprise some people in 2025 — especially when you factor in Miami's horrible vibes and the Jets' transition under Aaron Glenn.
If the Pats are looking to make some noise and announce themselves as the next in line behind Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East, NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah thinks this could be the time for New England to make a splash.
As the "Move the Sticks" podcast host points out, several All-Pro level players are unhappy with their situations right now and could be ripe for the picking for Vrabel and Co.
"With Drake Maye on a rookie deal, it makes sense for NE to be interested in trading for an expensive star player," Jeremiah pointed out. "[Trey] Hendrickson or [Terry] McLaurin make sense but I'd call the Cowboys first & shoot my shot for [Micah] Parsons."

The former NFL scout knows firsthand how rare it is to be able to land talents such as those three players with little-to-no risk involved.
We'll see if that's the way the Pats are thinking with Week 1 fast approaching and no deals to be found for a handful of perennial Pro Bowlers out there.
