Three Bright Spots In The Raiders’ Crushing Loss To The Bears

Although the Las Vegas Raiders now have three losses this season, there were many positives to take from Sunday’s matchup. Geno Smith had a forgettable performance once again, but there was time for him in the pocket. A blocked kick lost the game, but the special teams kick coverage improved.

It is challenging to maintain optimism after this franchise has consistently underperformed. Nevertheless, this team is beginning to show potential for the future. Although this season has started slowly once again, there is still hope for Sin City to turn things around.

Ashton Jeanty has the “it” factor…

Former NFL safety Ryan Clark claimed that the first-round pick was not living up to the hype, comparing the young player to LaDainian Tomlinson and Fred Taylor.

“What is [Ashton] Jeanty’s ‘it factor’,” Clark said. This was before his stellar performance on Sunday.

No. 2 finished the game with 138 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. Not only did he exhibit elite vision when carrying the ball, but the rookie showed legendary contact balance. The haters can no longer say the team wasted a draft pick.

Maxx Crosby is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate

“The Condor” is undeniably the top player on this roster and ranks among the best edge rushers in the world. However, he has faced challenges in incorporating turnovers into his game. This season, a new force seems to be awakening within Crosby.

He recorded his first career interception all on his own. After deflecting the pass in the air, No. 98 hustled to the ball and caught it in stride. He also forced a fumble, which almost led to a Jamal Adams scoop and score.

Good Morning Football host, Kyle Brandt had high praise for the captain of this Raiders team.

Maxx Crosby looks like the best player in the sport,” Brandt said. Caleb Williams also named the defender as the best player he has ever faced.

The Raiders O-line showed potential

Before the Bears game on Sunday, the offensive line unit in Sin City looked historically bad. Despite allowing zero sacks in Week 4, the team is still among the top five in sacks allowed. This affects the ability for this offense to be explosive.

Jackson Powers-Johnson proved he deserves to be a starter on this team. After being in a position battle all of training camp, he showed ferociousness and technique in week four. An injury to Kolton Miller will limit the ceiling for this offensive line, but it can be competent when he returns.

The team drastically needs to improve, but there are bright spots.
