Three standout players from Browns' loss to Jaguars

After a dismal 34-10 beating by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cleveland Browns will now have time to lick their wounds and reevaluate how they should go about the rest of the NFL season. 

During Sunday's matchup, just about every player on the team looked underprepared or outright overmatched. It was hard to find a small glimpse of positivity in what was one of the worst outings the Browns have ever put out on a football field. 

Yet, there were some shining lights in an otherwise dark and depressing assault on the senses. Three players did look actually fine, even good, some would say.

Three players who looked good in the Cleveland Browns' rough season debut

WR KC Concepcion

This could be either KC Concepcion or Denzel Boston, as both had moments of excellence against the Jags. Boston led the team with 59 receiving yards and a touchdown on two receptions, while Concepcion led the club with four receptions for 43 yards. One had the bigger plays (Boston); one was a bit more reliable (Concepcion). 

For the fact that the team lacked consistency in a lot of ways, we're giving the slight edge to Concepcion. On a better team, averaging 10.8 yards per catch would qualify as an automatic first-down converter. That's a reliability the Browns are going to need going forward, assuming they can coach this team up better in the coming weeks.

DT Mason Graham

The Browns defense wasn't bad across the board, but it wasn't good. The secondary got torched, the front four provided next to no pressure on Trevor Lawrence, and fans were left wondering what this team could've looked like had Jim Schwartz been retained, given how pedestrian the defensive effort looked. 

Still, Mason Graham had a nice day. Of his three tackles, two were for a loss, and he was the only one who had any type of consistency with getting penetration on passing downs. He got to Lawrence twice, with a nice hit on the Jags star and a sack. It's far from the dominating performance of former star Myles Garrett, but compared to the rest of the team, he looked like a genuine threat. 

KR Raheim Sanders

There's really no other starter to talk about; that's how bad things were on Sunday. Instead, we're looking at one of the few guys who made an impact regardless of his position on the team: kick returner Raheim Sanders. In the third quarter, after yet another touchdown by the Jaguars, Sanders took a kick off back 74 yards, all the way down to the Jacksonville 23-yard line. 

The Browns were in their best scoring position of the day, and despite the Herculean effort from Sanders, they bumbled the drive and, despite being mere feet from the red zone, walked away with just three points. By then, the score was already 31-0, and so it was too little, too late an effort to get back into the game, but the fact that someone was still trying spoke volumes.
