Vic Beasley had eight sacks for the Falcons last year. Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Just this past Friday, star Tennessee Titans free-agent signing Vic Beasley finally reported for training camp after a lengthy, unexcused absence.

We have no idea what was happening behind the scenes. But there’s some more bad news on this front for the Titans.

Tennessee could not have imagined a worst-case scenario for a player it signed to a one-year, $9.5 million contract this past spring.

Beasley remains an enigmatic figure

The former top-10 pick had an up-and-down five seasons with his original Atlanta Falcons team. Beasley led the NFL with 15.5 sacks in0 2016. He totaled 10 sacks the next two seasons combined before returning to form with eight quarterback takedowns last year.

Fresh off a surprising appearance in the AFC Championship Game, Tennessee is relying on the Clemson product to provide a consistent pass rush next to youngster Harold Landry.

It’s not looking great with about a month to go before the 2020 NFL season kicks off.
