Jalyn Holmes has found a new home. The veteran defensive lineman is signing with the Titans, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

The 2018 fourth-round pick out of Ohio State spent the first three seasons of his career with the Vikings, including a 2020 campaign where he compiled 36 tackles in 14 games (nine starts). He got into 617 defensive snaps that season, which still represents a career-high.

He was waived by Minnesota ahead of the 2021 campaign, and he’s since bounced around the NFL. Over the past five years, he’s had stints with the Saints, Giants, Bears, Jets, and Commanders. He spent the past two seasons in that latter spot, where he tallied 35 stops and two sacks in 21 games (five starts).

In Tennessee, Holmes will be joining a revamped defensive ends grouping. Offseason acquisitions Jermaine Johnson and John Franklin-Myers currently top the depth chart, with first-round pick Keldric Faulk also providing some competition for starting reps. Holmes will likely be competing with the likes of Oluwafemi Oladejo, Jaylen Harrell, and Jacob Martin for final spots on the depth chart.
