NFL legend Tom Brady is making headlines for something he told Georgetown University's graduating class this month.
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, talked about being resilient during his commencement speech at Georgetown University. The former 199th overall pick knows a thing or two about overcoming the odds.
"The whole point of doing hard things is to build resilience and the skills to overcome adversity. It’s to teach you how to find your own pathways to success."
Brady then talked about the New England Patriots' epic comeback in Super Bowl LI. He gave Danny Amendola credit for helping them chip away at a 28-3 deficit. However, he insulted the former wideout's college in the process.
"Danny went undrafted out of Texas Tech. He was cut by three NFL teams. He wasn’t the tallest. He wasn’t the fastest, but he had a huge heart, and he played his ass off in the biggest moments. I hope you guys find colleagues like Danny. Having business school friends are great. Don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you need a kid from a glorified community college who can bail your [expletive] out of any jam. If you want to achieve great things, surround yourself with people like him."
As you'd imagine, Texas Tech alumni didn't appreciate Brady's jab at their alma mater. Some thought he was being flat out disrespectful, while others are convinced this was a shot at Patrick Mahomes.
"Stuff like this mindset wise is why we have a class problem," one fan said.
"Texas Tech and University of Michigan literally have the same number of undergraduates," a second fan replied.
"It's really a subtle jab at Mahomes," another fan said.
"I’m no Texas Tech fan, but if you didn’t already know Brady was a pretentious [expletive], calling any Big 12 school a 'glorified community college' should clear it for you," a social media user wrote.

Brady has not responded to the criticism he's receiving on social media this week. To be honest, we're not even sure if he even checks his accounts.
Make no mistake though, Brady has become public enemy No. 1 for most Texas Tech fans.
