Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady made headlines earlier in the week when he said he “[didn’t] have a dog in the fight” for Super Bowl LX. This, of course, was massive news, as his former team is facing off against the Seattle Seahawks. While Brady’s tenure in New England didn’t end on the best note, recent signs indicate that the player and team have put those differences aside. After all, Brady made multiple returns to Foxboro over the past few seasons, called himself a “Patriot for life,” and even has a giant statue outside Gillette Stadium.

Brady’s comments sparked controversy across the web, as fans, current Patriots, and Brady’s old teammates alike bashed the quarterback for not supporting his former team. Cornerback Asante Samuel, who has his own questionable past with New England, notably criticized Brady and current linebacker Robert Spillane said it “personally makes [him] sick” to see Brady not supporting the team.

Tom Brady Backs Patriots In Super Bowl After Controversial Comments

Turns out, Tom Brady heard all the comments and is officially supporting the Patriots in Super Bowl LX. The seven-time Super Bowl champion recently posted a picture of himself and owner Robert Kraft and said, “You know I got your back RKK. Get that 7th ring so we can match.” Brady also followed the Patriots official team account on Instagram, something he was not doing before.

Brady, of course, spent two decades with the New England Patriots and won six Super Bowls, three MVP’s, and made 14 Pro Bowls while establishing himself as the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Working alongside head coach Bill Belichick, Brady and the Patriots were the league’s most unstoppable force throughout his tenure with the team. In total, Brady started 283 games for New England, going 219-64 while completing 63.8% of his passes for 74,571 yards, 541 touchdowns, and 179 interceptions.
