With the NFL season wrapped up, Tom Brady has a little extra time on his hands, and he has clearly been putting it to good use by tuning into the 2026 Winter Olympics. As Team USA prepares to face off against Canada in what promises to be a heated gold-medal showdown in men’s ice hockey, the hype has extended well beyond the rink.

The rivalry is intense, the stakes are sky-high, and even athletes from other sports are getting involved. Brady, never one to shy away from competition, decided to add his own twist ahead of puck drop making things a little more interesting with a friendly wager against a friend.

Tom Brady jumped on Instagram to sum up his two weeks in Milan, sharing highlights from everything he packed in during the Olympics. From catching multiple events in person to hitting the slopes himself, Brady made the most of the trip. In the post, Brady also let fans in on a wager he has going on with his friend. The caption said, “PS… @tie_domi … We have our bet, opposing team jersey swap fit a loser… consider this an L for you.”

Tie Domi, an NHL legend who hails from Windsor, Ontario, has been teaching Brady how to skate and play hockey. Brady and Domi had a similar bet during last year's Four Nations Face-Off, which Domi won when Canada took the title with a Connor McDavid overtime goal.

At the time of writing, the building had clearly tilted in Canada’s favor, with loud jeers greeting United States men's national ice hockey team every time it touched the puck. The energy was intense right from puck drop, and the physical play followed almost immediately with players jostling around the crease.

Despite the hostile environment, the Americans struck first thanks to Matt Boldy, who broke free and finished with composure to silence the crowd. Canada pushed back with a dangerous look in tight, but Connor Hellebuyck stood firm in goal. A late penalty also handed Team USA an early power-play opportunity as tensions continued to rise.
