Tom Brady Sounds Off on Rams Travel Talk

“There was one thing I thought about during all that: How much garbage people were talking about the stupid travel,” Brady said. “You know what matters? Playing good football. I don’t give a s*** if you show up five minutes before the game, an hour before the game, a week before the game, when you show up and you walk out on the field, complete the passes, make the blocks, make the tackles and play good football. There’s nothing more important than execution.”

Brady makes a sound point about execution, and the Rams took the field unprepared, from the coaches down to the players. Two examples stand out. The offense scored just seven points, the fewest in the NFL in Week 1, and the defense allowed nearly 400 total yards, with Myles Garrett at less than 100%.

Rams shouldn’t panic, but can’t lose either

The good news for the Rams is that it’s only Week 2. They’re still Super Bowl favorites with arguably the league’s most talented roster. Aaron Donald, back Monday, could spark a defense that struggled in the opener, and the offense is too talented to stay as broken as it looked. Garrett could return fully healthy as soon as Week 6, the same version that won Defensive Player of the Year last season.

Those are all reasons not to panic, though Monday night’s game against the New York Giants is now a must-win. The latest superteam doesn’t want to make headlines this week as another contender to start 0-2 after all the preseason hype.
