Pro Football Focus has placed the spotlight on Jacksonville Jaguars’ dual‑threat phenom Travis Hunter, naming him the top rookie wide receiver in fantasy football for 2025. The designation comes after a historic college career and high expectations entering his pro debut.
Hunter dominated both offensively and defensively at Colorado, where he hauled in 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024, all while playing snaps as a defensive back.
After a standout career in Boulder, Hunter earned the Heisman Trophy last season and was selected second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

PFF highlights Hunter’s elite ability to win in contested coverage and create separation, ranking him ahead of fellow first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan, selected by the Panthers.
His versatility on the field could boost fantasy scoring potential, since he is capable of contributing not just on offense, but also with defensive touchdowns, interceptions, and fumble recoveries.
That kind of dual-threat impact is nearly unheard of in fantasy football circles and gives Hunter an edge in leagues that reward defensive production.
With newly-hired head coach Liam Cohen expected to get creative in how he uses him, Hunter could be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.
Hunter joined a receiving room that includes Brian Thomas Jr. and Dyami Brown. Last year, Thomas tallied 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns.
His addition gives quarterback Trevor Lawrence another offensive weapon for a unit that ranked 25th in the NFL last season.
The former Colorado standout is set to make his NFL debut against the Panthers on Sunday, Sept. 7.
