Travis Kelce finally speaks about his engagement to Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift broke the internet last week when the two announced their engagement (on roster cutdown days of all days!). Swift posted images of Kelce popping the question and the two posing for photos after the proposal last Tuesday and Kansas City Chiefs fans are ecstatic to officially welcome Swift into the Kingdom full-time.

Swift was the one who had posted the news on her Instagram but we hadn't heard from Kelce since the engagement. The Chiefs tight end finally spoke about his engagement to the world's biggest pop star on the latest edition of his podcast, New Heights.

“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something, and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on," Kelce said on the latest episode. "It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with...It’s been awesome.”

Kelce continued to melt hearts by discussing how great it was to introduce Swift as his fiancée. The two's first public appearance after the big news was the Nebraska/Cincinnati college football game at Arrowhead last week, just days after the proposal.

"It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates," Kelce said, "so yeah, it was pretty cool…I still get giddy, it’s exciting times.”

Kelce and Swift first got together in the summer of 2023 and she attended a Chiefs game for the first time early in that 2023 season. From then on, it truly was a love story worth paying attention to. The couple was everywhere and now it's turned into an engagement.

It's been fun to see all of the Swifties joining the Chiefs Kingdom and rooting for the team and also fun to see the couple get to this point. None of us knew how this was going to go when the relationship first went public two years ago but now it's headed for a wedding and a marriage and who doesn't love that?

Kelce's comments really sound like any non-celebrity talking about getting engaged and pivoting from referring to their fiancé/fiancée as such rather than boyfriend/girlfriend. He's just a normal guy in this scenario and it's sweet to see him so giddy.
