New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had a viral quote about the Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini situation.
The quote from Henderson, an avid Christian, was going super viral on social media over the weekend. Vrabel, the Patriots head coach, and Russini, the now-former NFL insider for The Athletic, have been photographed and videoed several times over the past five-plus years. Both Vrabel and Russini are married with children.
“If you read this, I pray that this gives you hope. Your sin may be great, but God’s grace is greater. Turn away from sin and put your trust in Jesus ," the alleged quote from Henderson reads.
It includes the Bible verse: "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral."
There's one problem, though: Henderson never said this. It's a fake quote. But it still went viral, getting more than one million views.
Henderson had to take to social media to shoot down the quote and ask for the public to stop spreading it.
"I have never made a public statement on the Vrabes situation. Respectfully, please stop misspreading false information," he said.
Members of the New England Patriots are choosing to stand behind Vrabel, their beloved head coach, for now.
Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has called his head coach a "great" human being.
"I mean, he's our head coach," Maye said. "I think he's done a great job of talking to us and talking us through it. I'm just looking forward to getting back to work and getting ready."
Maye is still a fan of Vrabel.
"I know he's got the right mindset, and I know he's a great human being," Maye said. "I think he's... like I said, I love playing for him."
Vrabel is entering his second season in New England.
