Troy Aikman Predicts 2026 Super Bowl Winner Without Hesitation

While it’s still only May and there’s a long road ahead before Super Bowl LX — set to be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California — that hasn’t stopped some early predictions from surfacing.

On Tuesday’s episode of "Good Morning America," ESPN’s "Monday Night Football" announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman joined the show to discuss the upcoming NFL schedule release, set for Wednesday. Before wrapping up their interview, the two were asked to give their way-too-early Super Bowl picks — and Aikman didn’t hesitate.

While Buck predicted the Buffalo Bills would finally break through and win their first-ever Lombardi Trophy, Aikman had other ideas. The Hall of Famer confidently picked the team he spent his entire playing career with: the Dallas Cowboys.

“Cowboys… come on, come on, yeah! Come on, Stray!” Aikman said enthusiastically, directing his cheer toward former New York Giants star Michael Strahan.

Aikman’s loyalty to the Cowboys remains evident — and rightfully so. He enjoyed tremendous success with the organization over his 12-year NFL career, winning three Super Bowls, earning six Pro Bowl selections, and capturing Super Bowl XXVII MVP honors.

However, the Cowboys are certainly a bold pick, especially considering they missed the playoffs last season.

That said, they’ve made some notable additions to the roster, particularly in the NFL draft and with the acquisition of wide receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pickens is an intriguing offensive weapon who will now line up alongside star wideout CeeDee Lamb, giving quarterback Dak Prescott another dynamic target.

The 2025 season will also mark a new chapter for Dallas, as they debut first-time head coach Brian Schottenheimer. An internal hire by team owner Jerry Jones, Schottenheimer previously served as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator in 2023 and 2024.

Dallas was announced as the opponent for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL’s opening night game — a tradition that features the reigning Super Bowl champions unveiling their banner in front of a home crowd. This means Dallas will have to watch their NFC East rivals celebrate their title right in front of them.
