Tyreek Hill linked to two teams after his release

Tyreek Hill has quickly been linked to two teams after the Miami Dolphins decided to release him on Monday.

Hill’s potential return to the Kansas City Chiefs “has to be mentioned,” according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Fowler added that the Los Angeles Chargers might also be interested in reuniting Hill with Mike McDaniel, his former head coach in Miami who is now their offensive coordinator.

Memorably, Hill originally became a star with the Chiefs. He was an All-Pro three times with the organization and won a Super Bowl there. The team often deployed him for explosive plays, and he topped out at 1,630 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns in the 2018 season.

Hill is still just 31, and Fowler expects him to land a “respectable” contract after the Dolphins release him. There will be concerns, however, about his speed coming off a serious knee injury, and whether that will seriously impact him in light of how reliant his game is on that attribute.

The Dolphins plan to release Hill and will save nearly $23M against the salary cap in doing so. This will be the first time in his entire NFL career that he will get to test unrestricted free agency.
