Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson grabbed all the headlines during the offseason with their intense quarterback battle, as Todd Monken was given the task of finding the right man to lead the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL season. Watson and Sanders were under immense pressure to give their absolute best to win the starting job, and that’s exactly what they did. However, Watson eventually came out on top.

Monken took a brave call with Watson, a call which has paid off so far. Watson has completed 111 of 174 passes, throwing for 1,174 yards and seven touchdowns, helping the Browns win four of their first six games. Watson most recently led the Browns to victory against the Baltimore Ravens, strengthening his hold on the starting quarterback job.

While the quarterback battle between Watson and Sanders might be over, the duo continues to be in the news. Following the Browns’ game against the Ravens, Watson decided to invite the team to his home for a party to celebrate the win.

Watson and his wife had food trucks on site and a bunch of other activities including playing cards and table tennis, to name a few. However, controversy has ensued following the event.

It has been reported that Sanders was missing from the party. Browns beat reporter Anthony Lima revealed this detail. Speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Lima said, “I asked and was told by multiple people who would know. They said he was not at that party. Maybe he had a prior commitment to go to.”

Lima, however, clarified that there’s no bad blood between the duo. He said, “I thought Shedeur and (Deshaun) got along just fine. I think people are trying to make this a bigger thing by asking the question. I don’t know if he had a prior commitment, or maybe there was another high school he was at donating footballs to at that time,” he added.

The Browns will face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday as they look to carry their momentum after the win over the Ravens.
