Utah Legend is School's latest Super Bowl Champion

Once a legendary wide receiver and punt returner for the Utah Utes, Philadelphia Eagles punt returner Britain Covey has officially become the latest Pro Ute to win the Super Bowl.

After establishing himself as one of the best returners in the league in 2023, Covey's season was cut short in 2024 after suffering a broken scapula which sidelined him for six weeks. The injury bug bit him again later on in the season during their matchup against the Ravens as a neck injury rendered him out for the rest of the year.

The architect of some of the loudest moments in Rice-Eccles Stadium showed signs of being good to go for the big game as he practiced all week in the leadup but ultimately wasn't given the green light.

Regardless, Covey joins some legendary former Utes on the list of the school's Super Bowl winners. Steve Smith Sr., Eric Weddell, Alex Smith, Marv Fleming, Manny Fernandez, Paul Kruger, David Reed, and Terrell Burgess are all former Utes who have lifted the holy grail of football and Covey now can lay claim to the prestigious club.

The Eagles are the favorites to win the 2026 Super Bowl as they seem to be keeping all of their key pieces in place to make another deep run in the playoffs, and should Covey avoid any serious injuries, he could very well be playing a much bigger role for the team next season.
