Vikings' rookie sensation continues to pass every test
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

When the Minnesota Vikings made their two trades in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, there was a lot of criticism handed to them for giving up too much and not having enough assets for their 2024 class. If they wanted to have a good draft class, they needed to not just hit on their two first-round picks but also their day-three picks as well.

Unfortunately, they lost their fourth-round pick Khyree Jackson to a tragic car accident, leaving their draft class on day three with two sixth and two seventh-round picks. One of those has begun to leave a lasting impression on both the fanbase and the team.

Levi Drake Rodriguez is impressing everyone

The 232nd pick in the NFL Draft shouldn't be a rotational player in year one, but that is exactly what it's looking like will happen in the 2024 season. Rodriguez has an infectious work ethic and motor that's evident on every play.

One of the things that defensive coordinator Brian Flores has prioritized in his pass rushers is getting pressure quickly. The easiest way to do that is by getting off the ball quickly. So far this preseason, he is one of the quickest defensive linemen off the ball.

It's important to note that ESPN's Seth Walder mentioned that it's not a perfect set of data because of how it's collected.

It might be an imperfect system, but Rodriguez scoring highly is huge for both his potential and ability to make the roster. His film is littered with plays where he gets off the ball quickly and wreaks havoc.

Rodriguez is making an impact for the Vikings and he continues to thrive.
