Vikings WR Justin Jefferson Reveals Personal News on Wednesday

Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings are less than a week from the start of the 2026 NFL regular season as they look to avenge a 9-8 2025 regular season. Jefferson had his least productive season as a professional last year, still having 1,048 receiving yards but only had two touchdown receptions.

With newly acquired quarterback Kyler Murray starting ahead of J.J. McCarthy for the 2026 season, Jefferson is hoping he can recreate the same success of the DeAndre Hopkins-Murray connection with the Arizona Cardinals. As the fan base awaits to see how Murray can dish the ball to Jefferson, the 6-foot-1 wide receiver recently revealed another type of dish that he has been investing in this offseason.

On Wednesday, on the social media website X, PEOPLE magazine posted how they had interviewed the Destrehan High School graduate. In an interview with PEOPLE magazine during Pepsi’s new tailgating-themed campaign, Jefferson revealed some personal news, speaking on a dish that was made by John Jefferson, his father.

The dish is crawfish tails in a flavorful buttery gravy served over rice. Jefferson describes that since he is from Louisiana, seafood is an important meal for his family and that his father made crawfish étouffée, a Cajun dish.

“People that know me, I’m from Louisiana, so I love my seafood,” Jefferson says. “I got to have the crawfish étouffée. That’s the big, big meal that my Pops loves to cook for me after a big game, but really any seafood, shrimp, your crawfish, if we can get it, lobster, anything, really seafood.”
