The Washington Commanders needed a pass-rusher, so they turned their attention to a future Hall of Famer.
Von Miller was still a free agent, and while signing a 36-year-old veteran comes with plenty of risks, we're still talking about one of the best to ever do it.
That's why Miller put the league on notice with a hilarious statement in his introductory press conference.
"I can still roll out of bed, 36 years old, with my house shoes on, and rush the passer," Miller told the media with a laugh.

Even at his age, Miller still drew interest around the league. However, he chose the Commanders because of the winning culture they're building.
"You can't just leave Josh Allen and go anywhere. This team is all about winning. I'm all about winning. That's why I'm here is to win," Miller said, per John Keim.
Miller didn't look like his usual self in his final season with the Buffalo Bills, and he also had to deal with some issues off the field. Still, he logged six sacks in 13 appearances.
Even so, he's the ultimate low-risk/high-reward pickup for a team that lost its pass-rushing leader when Dante Fowler Jr. left in free agency.
The Commanders didn't have many glaring holes in their lineup after a strong offseason, but their ability to rush the passer was still a bit of a concern. If Miller can turn back the clock and make one final push, he could give this team a similar boost to the one he gave the Los Angeles Rams in their Super Bowl run four years ago.
