Watch Aaron Rodgers surprisingly play defense during Steelers practice

Rodgers talked a little more about how he’s regained his love for football after last season. Despite finishing the season on a low note after a first-round exit, the Steelers quarterback credited Mike Tomlin for helping him ignite his passion for the sport.

“I’m thankful for last year with Coach Tomlin, because he helped me get that love back, that deep love back for the game,” Rodgers said in an appearance on SiriusXM Radio. “That, you know, tearing my Achilles and going through a year of rehab, and just never feeling like myself, it just kind of beats you up a little bit, and I didn’t want that to be my ending in the game that I love so much, and Mike and being around the guys, got me that love back, and I was content in walking away.”

After Tomlin stepped away from the Steelers, Rodgers was reunited with his former coach in Green Bay, Mike McCarthy. Pittsburgh once again faces some steep competition in the division. The Baltimore Ravens revamped their coaching staff as well, while the Cincinnati Bengals loaded up their defense. It will be an uphill climb, but with Rodgers fully motivated, things might end up being fine for the Steelers.
