Chicago Bears fans have had little to celebrate this season, so they should enjoy a sweet punt return touchdown in Sunday's road game against the Green Bay Packers.
Midway through the first quarter, Green Bay punted on a 4th-and-6 at Chicago's 44-yard line. Bears third-year cornerback Josh Blackwell fielded the ball along Chicago's sideline and returned it for a 94-yard touchdown.

According to Next Gen Stats, Blackwell returned the punt from a right cornerback alignment, traveling 138.3 yards from snap to score. That is the longest distance traveled by a ball-carrier since 2019. Former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland traveled 141 yards on a 100-yard fumble return TD in a 34-30 win over the Detroit Lions on Sept. 29, 2019.

Blackwell didn't return punts in his first two seasons with Chicago. Through his first 16 games, he had six punt returns for 52 yards. The Bears may need him to keep providing a spark.
Chicago's offense has sputtered throughout the season. In their first 16 games, the Bears ranked 29th in the league in points scored (17.9).
