Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford’s stardom only grew larger during the 2025 season as he had the best year of his career, being named MVP of the NFL.

Even at age 38, Stafford remains one of the best quarterbacks in the league and showed in 2025 that he still has a number of good years left in him as long as he wants to keep playing.

Since Stafford got to Los Angeles, he has become just as big of a star off the field as he has on it, which was certainly not the case when he was playing in Detroit. That is evidenced by Stafford being the star of Topps’ new ad that just got released:

In the ad, Stafford shows at a card shop wearing a hat and sunglasses trying to be discrete. While there though, one thing he sees is his aunt Amy trying to sell all of the cards he has given her. While that upset Stafford at first, it turns out she was just trading them all in for a Chrome card of his, which he approved of.

Stafford has typically been a low-key guy throughout his career, but it’s cool to see him embracing his off-the-field stardom, especially after winning his first MVP.

Once training camp and the 2026 season roll around though, Stafford will shift his focus back to the Rams are he looks to get them back to the Super Bowl, which will be played at SoFi Stadium in February 2027.

Sean McVay wouldn’t be surprised if Matthew Stafford plays beyond 2026

Stafford has only committed to the 2026 season when he is under contract with the Rams and will seemingly assess how long he wants to play on a year-to-year basis. Despite that though, Sean McVay wouldn’t be surprised if Stafford has multiple seasons left in him.

“He’s gonna be able to play as long as he’s able to, whether that’s one, two more, who knows, he might be one of those guys that plays late into his 40s,” McVay recently said of his quarterback.
