In a video shared to his social media and eventually reposted on numerous platforms, Mahomes can be seen dropping back before throwing a pass in a workout. It doesn’t looks like much on the surface, but he’s making great strides for someone who tore an ACL just over 100 days ago.
“Day by Day! Felt great being able to throw the ball around today!” the on-screen caption read.
Mahomes hasn’t shared any further updates on the injury or a timetable for his return, but reports indicate that he could be healthy and available for the 2026-27 season opener in September.
The Chiefs went on to trade for QB Justin Fields over the offseason in the event that Mahomes suffers a setback and misses the beginning of the season.
Luckily, Wednesday’s video appears to show strong progress towards a full recovery.
