Wake Forest vs. North Carolina: The 8th-seeded Demon Deacons defeated 1st-seeded Tar Heels 9-5 in 12 innings to advance to the 2024 ACC Championship Semifinals. Wake Forest jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to solo home runs from Marek Houston and Adam Tellier, and Cameron Gill added a 2-run homer in the seventh. Pitcher Chase Burns held the Tar Heels in check, striking out 15 batters and giving up no runs in six innings of work. UNC rallied, scoring three runs in the seventh, and then in the 8th inning, an RBI double by Vance Honeycutt and an RBI single by Parks Harber gave the Tar Heels a 5-4 lead. Nick Kurtz had a two-out RBI double in the top of the ninth inning to tie up the game. Kurtz then gave the Demon Deacons the lead with a 2-run opposite field home run off the scoreboard. A 2-run Antonio Morales single added some insurance runs, and Michael Massey struck out the side in the bottom of the 12th for the win. Wake Forest take on Florida State in the semifinals.
