During the opening drive of the Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Chargers season opener in Brazil, Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy collided with teammate Travis Kelce on a crossing route.
The devastating moment became even darker when social media lip readers discovered Worthy’s trainer’s blunt assessment.
They allegedly detected a two-word response from the chief’s trainer about the shoulder injury, but the fact is that it was concerning enough to panic.
The collision occurred on a third-down crossing route when Worthy and Kelce ran into each other over the middle, with Kelce’s larger frame getting the better of the second-year wide receiver.
The 22-year-old went down immediately after his right shoulder got injured. The medical team rushed to the scene immediately and escorted the rookie from last year.
Sideline footage showed a Chiefs medical staff member examining Worthy and seemingly saying, “It’s bad.”
Anyone else see the trainer say “it’s bad” when talking about Xavier Worthy

The injury curse looks like it’s getting ready to hit the roster again. They lost Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown and Isiah Pacheco for the majority of the last season due to injury.
Highlighting the review footage, Deepak Chona shared his assessment of the possible timeline for the second-year player’s return. He took to X, noting, “#Chiefs Xavier Worthy- If shoulder dislocation… Best case = Avg 3 wks, very high (50%) re-injury rate Worst = surgery, out for the season.”

Even the best-case scenario sounds worse for the Chiefs offense. Until MRI results provide definitive answers, fans can hope for the best and keep their fingers crossed.
