Where is WR Hollywood Brown?

Speedster wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles this past offseason. His deep speed was supposed to take the top off of opposing defenses this year. He was projected to be no worse than the third wide receiver on the depth chart coming into the 2026 campaign.

However, Brown was a healthy scratch from the lineup last week against Washington. He did not play a single snap versus the Commanders. Brown again is healthy going into Week 2 at Tennessee, but will he actually see the field on Sunday?

At first, an outsider may have guessed that Brown possibly found his way into the doghouse of Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. However, Sirianni spoke positively of Brown after last week’s win. Sirianni indicated that he wants to see Brown contributing in the future.

“We want to get him in the football game. We’ll make a better effort to do that next time because I know the play making ability that he can bring with his speed,” Sirianni said.

Receivers Dontayvion Wicks, DeVonta Smith, and tight end Dallas Goedert all contributed with big plays in the passing game. Therefore, it was a very noticeable omission not to see Brown in the lineup at all last week. If rookie receiver Makai Lemon has to grab a seat on the bench in order to make room for Brown, that is a tradeoff most Eagles fans would be happy with.

In 2025, Brown caught 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns. Granted, those are not huge numbers but to not be on the field for a single snap seemed like a massive oversight by Philadelphia’s coaching staff. When the Eagles went silent at the start of the second half, Brown’s presence in the lineup could have possibly ignited the offense.

Schematically, defensive backs fear getting beat deep by Brown, so that opens up the intermediate route tree. The threat of the bomb makes Brown an outstanding third down receiving target for the Eagles if they decided to deploy him. I would be shocked if he does not see the field at some point against the Titans.
