Which Teams Could Ravens Face In Playoffs?
Charles LeClaire USA TODAY Sports

Following their 17-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, the Baltimore Ravens head to the AFC Playoffs as the conference's top seed with a first-round bye.

Who will be their likely opponents in two weeks when they inevitably get back on the field?

Let's break down the list of potential teams that Baltimore could face in the divisional round. First, let's look at where the teams stand heading into Sunday.

1. Baltimore Ravens

2. Miami Dolphins

3. Kansas City Chiefs

4. Jacksonville Jaguars

5. Cleveland Browns

6. Buffalo Bills

7. Indianapolis Colts/Houston Texans

MOST LIKELY: Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns

As of now, the four-seed matchup in the wild-card round of the playoffs will pit the Browns and Jaguars. The winner of that game is most likely to face the Ravens in Baltimore due to several reasons.

First, the Chiefs, as the third seed, are unlikely to lose a home playoff game to any of their playoff opponents. That means unless a seventh-seeded wild card upsets the AFC East winner, the fourth or fifth seed will be traveling to Baltimore.

While the Ravens have already dispatched the Jaguars once before, the possibility of Joe Flacco returning to Maryland with a chance to lead the Browns to the AFC Title game should scare a lot of Ravens fans.

SOMEWHAT LIKELY: Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans/Indianapolis Colts

While no one would pick the Dolphins to beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead, there's still a possibility that Miami could win a road playoff game. For that to happen, the Fish would need to lose to the Buffalo Bills Sunday night for the AFC East crown.

For the Colts or Texans, an upset over the AFC East winner is certainly unlikely but could happen with the inconsistent way we've seen both the Bills and Dolphins throughout the year.

NOT LIKELY: Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills

It will be impossible for the Chiefs and Ravens to meet in the divisional round of the AFC Playoffs. With the Bills, their playoff hopes hinge on winning the division.

If Buffalo wins the division, they will have the AFC's second seed and won't play Baltimore either.

Then there are the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If the black and gold are the AFC's sixth seed, does anyone expect them to walk into Arrowhead and beat Patrick Mahomes? How about if they are the seventh seed and have to go to Buffalo?

If there's one team that has seemingly back-doored themselves into the playoffs, it's Baltimore's arch-rival. Luckily for the Ravens, they'll probably avoid them in the second round.
