Who Vegas Believes the Dolphins Will Draft
It’s the week of the NFL draft and the unofficial start of the 2026 season. I know that voluntary workouts have already begun, but the season begins in earnest once the rookies are selected. From there, fans can get a clearer understanding of the expectations for the season.
In the spirit of gamifying everything, DraftKings Sportsbook has provided betting odds for the 1st through 15th picks in this week’s draft. So I figured it might be interesting to take a look at some of the players Vegas believes the Dolphins could select at pick number 11.
Carnell Tate at +1800 Odds
I would love it if the Dolphins somehow managed to select Tate on Thursday. Tate is coming off a solid career at Ohio State and has routinely been linked to Miami in mock drafts. However, at the last minute, the New York Giants traded their star nose tackle, Dexter Lawrence II, to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for the 10th overall pick. The Giants already have Malik Nabers; pairing Tate with him would create one of the best young receiving groups in the league. So this is all to say I wouldn’t bet on the Dolphins securing Tate.
Jermod McCoy at +1700 Odds
McCoy is a difficult player to evaluate. The former Tennessee and Oregon cornerback only played one season for each of his schools before tearing his ACL and missing the 2025 season. Despite the injury and lack of tape, McCoy decided to enter the draft and is projected as a first-round pick. If this were the previous regime, I would almost expect the Dolphins to take a risk on an injured player. However, I believe the current braintrust will want to stay away from previous follies.
Reuben Bain Jr. at +900 Odds
Bain Jr. is coming off an incredible year at the University of Miami. He helped the Hurricanes to a National title appearance and took the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award. With Miami trading Jaelan Phillips last season and releasing Bradley Chubb this offseason, there is certainly a hole in need of filling on the defensive line. If I were a betting man this would be my pick, very rarely does selecting a defensive end blow up in a team’s face… Dion Jordan notwithstanding.
Spencer Fano at +500 Odds
Fano is a bit undersized at 6 ft 5 in, 311 pounds, but he was a Unanimous All-American in 2025 and was First-team All-Big 12 in 2024 and 2025. The offensive line has been a point of contention for Dolphins fans for at least the past half-decade. It would be nice to select someone who can protect our new quarterback, Malik Willis. Considering Fano allowed 0 sacks in 2025, he would be a solid selection.
Mansoor Delane at +425 Odds
Much like the offensive line, the cornerback position has been in need of addressing. Last season was an absolute disaster for the position due to a lack of planning and unfortunate injury luck. I have to imagine that’s why Delane is the odds-on favorite for the Dolphins at pick 11. He was an Unanimous All-American last season at LSU, and is often ranked as either the number 1 or number 2 cornerback talent in the draft. While the pick isn’t flashy, it might just be the perfect fit for the defensive-minded Jeff Hafley.
So, will you be betting on any of these players to be selected by the Dolphins on Thursday? Or do you think DraftKings is way off-base? Let me know in the comments.
