The Chicago Bears surprised many this offseason by trading DJ Moore. On March 11, the team dealt him and its 2026 fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a second-round selection.
The Bears will rely heavily on Luther Burden III to step up and play opposite Rome Odunze next season. Chicago’s offense ranked among the best in the NFL in 2025 and will look to build on that strong performance. It also strengthened its defense with key additions to its secondary and D-line.
The franchise signed former Seattle Seahawks star Coby Bryant to address its need at safety. It then drafted Dillon Thieneman out of Oregon with its No. 25 pick.
The Bears held the first day of their OTAs on Wednesday, and the team posted pictures from the session on Instagram.
“Beautiful day for some football

Moore is long gone but he somehow still ended up trending on social media. This is after fans got emotional after seeing Bryant donning Moore’s No. 2 jersey.
“so weird seeing #2 on the opposite side of the field,” one fan said.
“DJ Moore,” a reaction read.
“2 not being DJ still hurts,” wrote a user.
“DJ looks a lil weird in slide #2,” posted another.
“So weird seeing someone else in that #2,” a fan commented.
“Number 2 jersey had me tweaking,” another fan wrote.
Moore spent the last three seasons with Chicago and never missed a game. His ability to stay healthy played a key role in the team’s reaching the Divisional Round last year. However, with Burden’s emergence, the Bears chose to part ways with the veteran wideout.
Meanwhile, Bryant won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2025. He recorded 66 combined tackles, four interceptions and seven passes defended. The 27-year-old brings championship experience to Chicago and will mentor Thieneman in his rookie campaign.
