Will Jaxson Dart Be the 2026 NFL MVP?

Jaxson Dart has quickly become one of the most electric quarterbacks in the NFL due to his explosive rushing style. While there’s quite a bit of hype around Dart, does he have a real shot to be the 2026 NFL MVP?

To kick off the year, Dart led the New York Giants to a win in Week 1, where he went 23 for 29 with three touchdowns and 230 passing yards, all without throwing an interception. Not only that, but Dart was able to pick up 54 rushing yards on 11 carries, although he did cough up a fumble.

Dart played 14 games last year and started in 12, where he threw for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. That said, he also ran for 487 yards and 9 touchdowns. Also keep in mind that Malik Nabers suffered his season-ending injury in Week 4.

To get some insight on Dart, Cincinnati Bengals tackle Orlando Brown Jr. gave his thoughts on the Giants quarterback during Inside the Pocket with Orlando Brown Jr.

Orlando Brown Jr. Gives His Jaxson Dart Thoughts

When talking about the development of quarterbacks, Brown would add that “his maturation has shown,” which is exactly what you want to hear about a young quarterback.

Brown would also talk about the situation in New York specifically, as he mentioned, “the good thing about guys like Jaxson Dart and where he’s at in his career you know you look at what’s around him,” as he would go on to mention Jameis Winston and the coaching staff.

The reason this is a big deal is that Brown has blocked for Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and now Joe Burrow, so Brown knows what needs to be done from a quarterback to succeed.

Now even if Dart has a big year, winning MVP would be a really tough task. To give some context, Dart is all the way down at +4500 on FanDuel, so the chance of it happening seems very low.

While I’m not confident enough in Dart to predict him taking that significant of a leap, he certainly continues to trend in the right direction in terms of becoming the Giants franchise quarterback.
