WR Mecole Hardman not worried about Chiefs offense

During an offseason filled with a bevy of blockbuster trades, signings and contract extensions, the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs made one of the biggest swaps in March when Tyreek Hill was sent to South Beach in exchange for five draft picks. Hill's departure represented six Pro Bowls and three First Team All-Pro honors departing for the AFC East, as well as perhaps the fastest and most dynamic wide receiver in football.

The Chiefs quickly went to work in attempting to make up for the loss of Hill, bringing in the likes of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster from the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers, respectively, while selecting Skyy Moore out of Western Michigan in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. On top of the new additions, Kansas City has one of the most well-respected head coaches in the game in Andy Reid, arguably the best quarterback in the league in Patrick Mahomes and one of, if not the top tight end in the game in Travis Kelce.

For these reasons and more, holdover wideout Mecole Hardman doesn't seem worried about the state of the Chiefs offense heading into the fall.

While loads of things could change between now and Week 1 of the regular season, Hardman is currently slated to start alongside Smith-Schuster and Valdes-Scantling in Kansas City's three-wide sets, with third-year running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire joining the projected starting offense.

A 2019 Pro Bowler as a rookie, Hardman finished the 2021 campaign third on the team in targets (83), receptions (59) and receiving yards (693) — all career highs — while adding two touchdowns through the air. The 24-year-old was also the Chiefs' primary punt returner, recording 13 returns for 157 yards.
