The ongoing relationship between Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and pop megastar Taylor Swift is one of the most noteworthy trends in modern pop culture, and NFL fans get a taste of her newfound fandom for the Chiefs whenever she checks into games via one of the luxury boxes.

In her appearance on Travis's "New Heights" podcast (which topped over 1 million live viewers within minutes of starting up), Swift has confirmed that she is not just a fairweather football fan. When the Chiefs used the No. 32 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on wide receiver Xavier Worthy, Swift's newfound love for the game made her positively ecstatic.

"I fell in love with it," Swift said. "I became obsessed with it. I became a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, "We drafted Xavier Worthy!' My friends are like, "What? Who bodysnatched you? What do you mean, 'We drafted Xavier Worthy?'"

At this rate, Swift might muscle her way into the Chiefs front office, as he initial belief in Worthy was rewarded with what was deemed a very strong rookie season after a sluggish start.

Taylor Swift was thrilled when Chiefs drafted Xavier Worthy

Worthy caught 59 passes for 638 yards and six touchdowns during his rookie season, which came after he used his blazing speed to set an NFL Combine record with a 4.21 time in the 40-yard dash. Worthy came alive in the postseason, tallying 287 yards and three touchdowns in three games.

With Rashee Rice in line to miss more time due to his suspension, veteran DeAndre Hopkins leaving for greener pastures after arriving via trade, and Kelce himself starting to slow down, Worthy should be in line for an increase in targets in his second professional season.

Swift's football fandom has evolved over the years, as she claims that she thought every offensive and defensive player was on the field at the same time when she started dating Kelce. "I didn't know what a first down was," Swift said. "I didn't know what the chains were. I didn't know what a tight end was."

In just one year, Swift went from no knowledge to having a keener scouting eye than many of the GMs in the league. Worthy also has the added benefit of knowing that Swift is excited to watch him play, which is quite a nice feather to put in his cap.
