Yes to Troy Aikman

Why exactly do you want to hire Troy Aikman as a consultant to evaluate the potential talent for a new General Manager and provide much-needed counsel to owner Stephen Ross?

Exactly why.

Because Aikman knows people.

Aikman knows the general managers of other teams, the assistant general managers, and the other coaches, and has contact with them.

Miami, and thankfully, Stephen Ross, understands that.

And he has made the correct decision to hire Aikman as a consultant who will be real with Ross.

Thank God for that.

I have heard and read comments about why Dan Marino wanted or did not want to play the same role as a consultant in the General Manager decision.

Maybe it is because he does not want the role, because he agrees that Aikman knows more people at their stage of career, or because he likes his current role.

I will never question Dan Marino.

He is one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play.

For the Miami Dolphins, for any team, period.

Please stop the comments about why Aikman was hired by owner Stephen Ross, despite Marino as a consultant.

Idiot comments, in my opinion.

Let us fans give Ross a pass on this decision, because what it means that Aikman was hired for that, hopefully, Ross smells the coffee and knows this franchise needed an extreme change.

In attitude, in a winning philosophy, in respect for the franchise!

Go for it, Troy, be as direct and honest as you are as a broadcaster on Monday Night Football, and please call our Dolphins out.

Ross hired you for a reason.

Please do it!
