Lukas Dostal Re-Signs with the Anaheim Ducks

  • Team is the Anaheim Ducks

  • Contract is for five years.

  • Average Annual Value is $6.5 million

The Anaheim Ducks have secured their future in net and given goaltender Lukas Dostal a new contract, ensuring the 24-year-old remains a key part of their roster moving forward. Dostal, who was set to become a restricted free agent, has shown significant growth and consistency, and has quietly established himself as a reliable NHL starter. This contract makes him an integral component of the Ducks’ future plans and their clear future number one.

In the 2024–25 NHL season, Dostal appeared in 54 games, starting 49 of them. He recorded a 23–23–7 win-loss-overtime loss record, with a goals-against average (GAA) of 3.10 and a save percentage (SV%) of .903. He also notched one shutout during the season. His performance was highlighted by a season-high 45-save game against the Edmonton Oilers on April 7, 2025, contributing to a 3–2 victory for the Ducks . Despite Anaheim’s struggles, Dostal delivered consistent efforts and faced a high volume of shots nearly every night.

Dostal’s development has been evident since his NHL debut, and his 2024–25 season statistics reflect his growing confidence and skill between the pipes. His ability to handle a significant workload and deliver consistent performances has made him a reliable presence in goal for Anaheim.

What This Means for the Team

With this NHL signing, the Ducks now have clarity in net. Dostal projects as the club’s number one goalie heading into next season. More importantly, his development aligns well with Anaheim’s young core led by Mason McTavish, Leo Carlsson, and Pavel Mintyukov.

This deal also gives general manager Pat Verbeek cost certainty at a critical position. As the Ducks continue to build, having a stable goaltending presence will be key to supporting their evolving defensive group.
