Anaheim Ducks Trade Trevor Zegras to Eastern Conference Team

Trevor Zegras' name came up in trade talks again on Monday morning, and quickly, he's now reportedly been traded to the Philadelphia Flyers.

For the past two years now, reports have surrounded Anaheim Ducks young star Trevor Zegras, and after two poor campaigns due to injury, the team have finally decided to move on as they finally look to end all that speculation and trade the incredibly talented 24-year old forward.

On Monday, those reports surfaced again, with Elliotte Friedman revealing the team were looking to move him this week, and less than two hours later, a deal has officially come together.

According to Friedman, Zegras has been traded East to the Philadelphia Flyers, with fellow NHL Insider Frank Seravalli confirming that sources believe this deal is set to happen today.

In Zegras, the Flyers are getting a highly skilled centre that can play with any style of player, and while he's been injury prone as of late, he's exactly the type of player that the Flyers wanted to add to their roster this summer.

For the Ducks, this one doesn't make too much sense, as Zegras' value was at an all-time low, but with the team clearly wanting to move on to build around the likes of Mason McTavish and Leo Carlsson, than moving Zegras was clearly the right play for the organization in their minds.

In return for Zegras, the Ducks will officially be getting 26-year old Ryan Poehling, pick No. 45 in the 2025 NHL Draft and a fourth-round pick in 2026, and given the way Zegras performed in recent years, that seems to be a fair return.

Ultimately, this ends years of rumours about Zegras, a player that struggled mightily under former Head Coach Greg Cronin, and now, he's set to find a new home in Philadelphia, and with fellow young star Matvei Michkov leading the way, this could be a great situation for the 24-year old.
