Chicago Blackhawks forward Jason Dickinson is managing a right hand injury after a high shot stung him during Thursday's game against the Florida Panthers.
Dickinson, Chicago's most reliable two-way forward, deflected a puck with his right hand in the second period against Florida. The 29-year-old went to the locker room and missed most of the middle frame but returned for the third period as the Blackhawks closed out a 3-1 victory over the Panthers.
This was Jason Dickinson's first shift of the second period. It looked like he took a puck to his right hand and starts shaking it afterward. #Blackhawks https://t.co/2NpPFhuv4o pic.twitter.com/BOXUNKBJYz

Head coach Luke Richardson said postgame that Dickinson "gutted out" the final 20 minutes and would require further evaluation.
Dickinson then missed Friday's practice due to maintenance. But a positive update came to light when Richardson said Dickinson will probably play Saturday when the Blackhawks visit the Philadelphia Flyers.
Mrazek scheduled to start for the Blackhawks in Philadelphia tomorrow, Richardson said. Dickinson (hand) will probably play.

A low-scoring Chicago team relies on defense to achieve success, and Dickinson leads the charge among the forward group. Already without Seth Jones on the blue line, missing Dickinson for any length would shake up the team's defensive structure, so Friday's positive prognosis provides a sigh of relief for the Blackhawks.
After snapping a three-game losing streak with Thursday's victory, Chicago will look to build momentum in Saturday's matinee contest against the Flyers. Puck drop is at noon CT and the game will air on Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) and NHL Network.
