The St. Louis Blues have retained goaltending depth by signing netminder Will Cranley to a one-year, two-way contract extension, the team announced Monday through President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong.

Cranley, 24, split the 2025-26 season between the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds and the ECHL’s Florida Everblades. He appeared in 10 games for Springfield, posting a 6-4-0 record along with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage. He also saw action in 18 regular-season games with Florida, where he compiled a 14-3-1 record, a 2.17 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.

The Peterborough, Ontario native has now played 87 combined games across the AHL and ECHL, recording a 40-33-8 mark during his professional career. He has accumulated 34 wins and a .896 save percentage in 74 career ECHL appearances.

Selected by St. Louis in the sixth round, 163rd overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft, Cranley has progressed through the organization since beginning his professional career in 2023. Before turning pro, he spent several seasons in the Ontario Hockey League.

Cranley’s breakout junior campaign came in 2019-20 with the Ottawa 67’s, when he produced an 18-2-0 record in 21 appearances, along with a 2.81 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage. He later handled a larger workload during the 2021-22 season, appearing in 41 games and finishing with a 13-22-3 record. He concluded his OHL career with the Flint Firebirds in 2022-23, logging an 18-18-5 record in 44 games.

Before last season, Cranley spent most of his first two professional campaigns in the ECHL with the Reading Royals, Utah Grizzlies and Florida Everblades. Across 56 appearances during that stretch, put up an 20-24-7 record, a 3.37 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage.

Looking ahead, Cranley is expected to remain part of Springfield’s goaltending group, where he could compete with Vadim Zherenko and Georgi Romanov for playing time. Though he has climbed through the Blues ranks, Cranley has yet to make his NHL debut.
