The collegiate season has ended, and players are now deciding on their futures and whether to stay at their particular school or find a new opportunity. Boston Bruins prospect Casper Nassen announced Sunday his intention to enter the transfer portal and leave the University of Miami-Ohio. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound forward just completed his sophomore season with the RedHawks and will look to find a new home for his junior season.
Nassen was a seventh-round draft pick of the Bruins in the 2023 NHL Draft and came to the NCAA from Sweden shortly after. The Norrtalje, Sweden native scored 16 goals with 15 assists in 41 games with Frolunda in the U20 Swedish Nationell. In two seasons with Miami of Ohio, Nassen totaled 12 goals and 16 assists in 70 games with a combined minus-27 rating.
The 22-year-old has size and a heavy shot but is considered a project. There was an uptick in production this past season as Nassen increased his point total from 10 to 18. Nassen has just turned 22 on April 11 and will look to find a spot to continue his pursuit of an NHL career with Boston.
