The Florida Panthers won their second consecutive Stanley Cup on Tuesday night, eliminating the Oilers in six games after defeating them in seven last season.
This time, Brad Marchand was part of the squad after being traded from the Boston Bruins at this season's NHL trade deadline. He had spent the first 15 and a half seasons of his career with the Bruins but was unable to reach a new contract agreement ahead of free agency this summer.
Boston ultimately dealt him to Florida to give him a shot at winning another Cup—and he delivered, finishing the playoffs with 10 goals, 10 assists, and 20 points.
While the celebrations are still on for Marchand and the Panthers, many wonder what the future holds for him.
After Dairy Queen became a common theme for Marchand and the Panthers throughout the playoffs, the former Bruin had the opportunity to serve ice cream to fans at a South Florida location on Friday.
He was asked if he has anything to say to Panthers general manager Bill Zito.
"Give me a contract," Marchand replied.

Marchand isn’t the only free agent Zito has to worry about this summer. He’s joined by Conn Smythe Trophy winner Sam Bennett, 11-year Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad, and several others.
The team has $19 million in cap space, and Bennett is likely to command between $7–8.5 million of it. That leaves Marchand, who is likely looking for a raise from the $6.125 million he made with the Bruins.
It’s a tricky situation for Zito, but if the past few years have shown anything, it’s that he knows how to make it work.
