As per a report by NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Vancouver Canucks have settled on a decision regarding the hiring of their next general manager. Seravalli reports, “Hearing #Canucks are set to formally announce Ryan Johnson as the 13th general manager in franchise history today.” It is assumed he may also be announced as the Head of Hockey Operations.

He adds, “Interested to learn the titles for Henrik and Daniel Sedin as they ascend in the front office.”

Henrik and Daniel Sedin will now have elevated roles in the organization, but the club has yet to announce how involved they will be or what their titles will be.

The Canucks will hold a news conference at 1:00 PM on Thursday to answer questions from the media and likely give a general outline of their managerial structure and what comes next this offseason.

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal had reported earlier this week, “The media reports that the Canucks were leaning towards Evan Gold on Monday, not the case…Ryan Johnson always had the inside track from day one.”
