He remains undefeated in regulation, with six starts for the Canadiens, and his arrival has truly made a difference for Martin St-Louis' squad.
However, it's important to remember that Dobes has completely taken Cayden Primeau's spot, and it must not always be easy (emotionally) for Primeau to see his replacement steal the spotlight to this extent.
Despite that, the new number one goalie for the Laval Rocket fully understands the situation and has admitted that he is extremely impressed by Dobes' performances with the Canadiens.
That's what you call a great teammate.
Some reactions have indeed been collected from the Laval Rocket regarding Jakub Dobes:
"It's fun to watch, he has a lot of talent, we're really happy for him."Pascal Vincent
And of course, a reaction from Primeau.
"Even though I had to give up my spot to him, I enjoy his success. It's hard not to notice what he's doing, he admits with a smile.
He's playing so well, and the team is playing really well too.
We want everyone to succeed, and I'm really happy for him and hope it continues.
- Primeau, on Dobes
We love it!
Dobes is getting a lot of attention, and rightfully so, but let's not forget that Primeau has also been having a lot of success since his reassignment to the Laval Rocket.
Cayden Primeau, 25 years old, has a record of 6-0-0 in Laval, with a goals-against average of 1.81 and a save percentage of 0.926.
What he's achieving with the Rocket is truly impressive, especially after the little slap in the face he received with his waiver assignment.
Kudos, Cayden!
