The Winnipeg Jets announced that they’ve extended forward Cole Koepke to a two-year contract extension. The deal carries an average annual value of $1.45 million.

Koepke, 27, joined the Jets as a free agent in the 2025 NHL offseason. He tied his career high of 17 points, and it also marked his second consecutive season hitting the 17-point mark.

He earned $1 million in the 2025-26 season in a role where he primarily suited up as a depth forward.

The 2018 sixth-round NHL Draft selection initially was part of the Tampa Bay Lightning organization. He suited up for three seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, which included a college high of 33 points in 2019-20.

Koepke, an NHL journeyman, spent his first full season of professional hockey in the AHL. He suited up for the Syracuse Crunch before joining the Tampa Bay Lightning for 17 games, where he posted just one goal in 2022-23.

After another year split between Syracuse and Tampa Bay, Koepke joined the Boston Bruins in the 2024-25 season, and he found his footing in the NHL.

With another season in the NHL, Koepke joined the Jets for another full NHL season.

Winnipeg has a handful of pending unrestricted and restricted free agents on its roster. Taking care of Koepke was a priority, especially after he expressed his content playing in Winnipeg following the Jets’ final game of the 2025-26 season.

With the NHL offseason in full swing for Winnipeg, they aim to build their bottom-six around speed, and Cole Koepke fits into those plans.
